
Owen revealed in his autobiography that his relationship with Keegan was not a good one and must have been feeling a little nervous when it was announced that Keegan was the man to replace Sam Allardyce at St. James Park this week.
However, Keegan has revealed that he has no problem with the England striker, even though he was shocked by the revelations in Owen’s book.
The new Toon boss has decided to install Owen as captain for his first game in charge with Bolton as he attempts to restore some faith in Newcastle.
"Not only will he play, I will make him captain. He is the right guy to lead us - and that tells you what I think of him” Keegan explained.
