Manchester United's reserve striker Febian Brandy, 18, has joined Swansea City on loan until the end of the season, and Stoke City have signed United defender Ryan Shawcross, 20, for an initial sum of £1million, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Local lad Brandy, born in Moss Side, has been with United since he was nine years old, having been spotted playing for his club West End Boy. He has graduated through the ranks at Old Trafford since risen through the ranks, recovering from a broken leg sustained in the 2005/06 season and progressing through the Under-18s and become a regular for United's reserves.
He scored the only goal in the 2007 Champions Youth Cup Final win against Juventus.
Brandy will feature on loan for League One leaders Swansea - embarrassingly humbled on Wednesday by non-league Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup - against Port Vale on Saturday.
Shawcross though has left United, signing a three-and-a-half year contract with Stoke City after impressing the Potters while on loan at the Britannia Stadium.
The initial £1millon fee could rise by £750,000 depending on appearances and a further £250,000 depending on the club's success.
Like Swansea, Stoke will be looking to bounce back from FA Cup defeat - at Newcastyle in the Potters' case - by maintaining their promotion push in the Championship.
