Brede Hangeland, 26, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Fulham, joining the Cottagers from Copenhagen for an undisclosed transfer fee.Born in Texas, Hangeland was captain of FK Viking when new Fulham boss Roy Hodgson was manager there.
And Hodgson, announcing his arrival, says Hangeland is a welcome addition to the Cottagers' team.
Hodgson told the club's official website, fulhamfc.com: "I am delighted to welcome Brede to Fulham and I think he will prove to be a tremendous signing for us.
"I am of course very familiar with his ability and am confident that he will help our defensive options, and play an important part in the remaining games of this, and the following seasons."
Fulham host Arsenal this weekend.
