
Now, the former Rayo Vallecano man has admitted that his heart is slightly balanced more towards the latter than the former.
"I was with Atletico at the start and I owe a lot to that team," he began.
"But I was there for only four years, compared to seven with Madrid, having the best seasons of my career. That makes me more a Madridista than a rojiblanco."
However, he wouldn't commit to an away win for the blancos at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.
"The fact that I've played for both teams leads me to predict a tie," he smiled.
"I made good friends at Atletico, too."
