Impossible That Gilardino Will Leave, Says Agent Alberto Gilardino’s agent has categorically dismissed reports that his client will be used as a make

The Azzurri striker has struggled for consistency ever since his high profile move from Parma a couple summers back, and the dramatic emergence of Brazilian teenage sensation Pato has cast his future at Milan in serious doubt.

The latest speculation making waves around the peninsula surround a possible Frey-Gilardino trade, which esteemed player agent Beppe Bonetto has been quick to dismiss, however.

“Milan have no intention of selling Gilardino,” he insisted. “Will Alberto go to Florence in a swap deal with Sebastien Frey? At the moment that is impossible and not just because of problems with the wage bill.”

The Turin-based agent was referring to the fact that his client's salary is almost double than that of Fiorentina's top stars, making it hard to conceive how he would fit into the Viola's strict pay structure.

Gila bore the brunt of the criticism for Milan's impotence during the first half of the season, when he was under pressure to make up for the seemingly interminable injury of Ronaldo as well as Pato's ineligibility. He was again frustratingly ineffectual in front of goal during Milan's shock Coppa Italia exit at the hands of Catania in midweek, and will almost certainly have to settle for a spot on the bench when the Rossoneri travel to face fellow Champions League hopefuls Udinese this weekend.
