Valverde Curses "Worst Match Of The Season" After 1-0 Almeria Loss After Espanyol deservedly lost out 1-0 at Almeria, visiting coach Ernesto Valverde

Ernesto Valverde wouldn't mince words after his side succumbed to a late goal at the Mediterraneo.

"That was our worst game of the championship so far," he spat.

He went on to add that his side's trademark attacking teamplay was nowhere to be found, with only solo efforts giving the home defence anything to worry about.

Not one to leave anyone out, the boss added that Almeria were also far from impressive, and that their victory was narrow.

According to Valverde, a goal could have come from anywhere, depending on who made the error, and it just so happened that it was his side that did so.

Almeria had no Copa action midweek while Espanyol played a tiring game on Wednesday, but Valverde would not accept this as an excuse.
