The port club have been linked with a number of players recently including Roma’s Ahmed Barusso but it seems as if the Griffoni are looking towards Fiorentina’s Anthony Vanden Borre on a loan deal. It seems as if the Genoese club are interested in swapping Papa Waigo for the Belgian.


“We have reached an agreement with Fiorentina to swap with Papa Waigo if Vanden Borre decides to go ahead. We don’t want to give Papa Waigo to any club but we will let him go to Fiorentina. Waigo is a good player and we don’t really want to lose him.”


Preziosi is keeping his options open though and insisted that the club will not be spending big money now or in the summer.


“We need to sort out a lot of part owned players first before we spend any money. We need to ensure that we balance our finances with results on the pitch. We will weigh up our options at the right time. From March onwards we will begin to discuss who comes and who goes,” concluded Preziosi.
