Palermo took the lead through Amauri, but went in at half time 2-1 down. After missing a host of chances and a penalty, Fabrizio Miccoli this time converted his spot-kick to equalise, only for Siena to grab a winner through Simone Loria.
"We have lost an incredible game,” said Guidolin.
“We started well and then started making some mistakes. We missed chance after chance and at half time I told the lads to stay calm because we are going to recover. However every ball that fell in the area ended up in a goal for them.”
Palermo have not had the best of luck recently and they were also unfortunate to crash out of the Coppa Italia to Udinese in midweek.
“At this moment there is something that is not running for us and I am not only talking about bad luck, even if today we were unlucky,” Guidolin continued.
“I am thinking of the header from Amauri that was saved by Manninger.
“We must regain our confidence, the quality of our defence and start over from there. The team is performing, and has only played bad in Genoa [against Sampdoria last week]. Today we weren’t bad."
