Steaua Bucharest striker Nicolae Dica has completed a move to Portuguese giants Benfica, it has been announced.The 27-year-old, who has been capped 22 times for his country, moves to the Supaliga despite speculation during the last 2 seasons linking him to French champions Lyon.
Dica leaves Steaua after three-and-a-half seasons in which he appeared 114 times and scored 52 goals.
Named Romania's player of the year in 2006, Dica twice lifted the domestic championship before his departure.
However, he faces a tough task to repeat the feat this season with Benfica: the Eagles may be second in the table but they are a massive 11 points behind rivals and current champions Porto.
